St. Catharines & Toronto, ON – Wednesday March 8, 2016: In this, the 150th year of Canada, being announced today is the formation of the Ontario Entertainment Hall of Fame. Spearheaded by business executive Bruce Prentice, known as a hall of fame developer; Wayne Malton, entertainer / producer and entertainer Thomas Saulter, along with a group of entertainment agents, producers and JUNO winners, are moving this project forward with a working Board of Governors and prominent Board of Advisors.

Those eligible for election to the Ontario Entertainment Hall of Fame will be born in Ontario, raised here or have performed here often enough to leave a significant impact on the people of Ontario to be recognized as an Ontario ‘icon’. The founding selection committee will be compromised of the Board of Governors, Board of Advisors and selected members of the media.

Ontario, the most dynamic province in Canada has produced a large number of the worlds well known Canadian performers who have flourished as international stars: from musicians and stage performers, to film and TV stars, to radio personalities and more, the list goes on to include creativity in all facets of entertainment.

The inaugural selections to the Ontario Entertainment Hall of Fame will be announced in late spring 2017, followed by an annual gala and induction ceremonies at the end of the year. Induction, gala and ceremony dates TBA.

The organizing group of the Ontario Entertainment Hall of Fame is also in the planning stages of the Canadian Entertainment Hall of Fame.
